I would like to share this Call for Chapters for an upcoming book on memory and photography, "Contemporary Ideas on the Relationship Between Autobiographical Memory and Photography".
Summary:
Contemporary Ideas on the Relationship Between Autobiographical Memory and Photography will be the most comprehensive book to date in this field of enquiry. As it will bring together practitioners who are theorists and theorists who are practitioners this will be the first book that will look at autobiographical memory and photography from these multiple perspectives.
Proposal Submission Deadline: January 29, 2022
Proposals may address:
- Documentary, Autobiography & Photography
- Writing the self: the autobiographies of image makers
- Expressing the self, the self portrait as a form of Autobiography
- Documenting the self: expressing a life in photographs
- Outside the frame: space(s) between memory and the photographic image
- Fiction(ing), autobiographical memory and photography
- Photographic and/or mnemic absences, gaps and slippages
- Disputes, disagreements and discord
- Other utterances: rethinking the language of remembrance
- Motivations shaping motives: tracing idiosyncratic manifestations of a creator’s concerns
- Existential philosophy remarks on photographic practices which reflect photographers’ past experiences
- Triggering spectators’ affect via testifying own stories
- The scenery’s input onto Photography’s reverie
- Sharing the same frame: intentional compositions, meaningful content and slips of the eye
- Inviting, locating and transcribing unconscious parts of their psyche onto photographic imagery
