Call for Expressions of Interest 
 
The MeCCSA Sound Studies Network is seeking five new members to join its Steering Group. The network was established in April 2021 as part of the Media, Communication and Cultural Studies Association (https://www.meccsa.org.uk/about/). Sound studies is a multi- and interdisciplinary subject area, and the network supports scholars and facilitates projects that combine a range of perspectives, approaches and methodologies in order to explore the nature, impact and meaning of sound. As an inclusive network, its members investigate the place of sound in media and culture at local, national and global level.  

The Steering Group is actively enhancing its inclusivity agenda, and looking to bring diverse perspectives on sound to the work of the network. We have five vacancies on the Steering Group and would particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups. Expressions of interest are also welcome from interested parties across all stages of their career.  
  
We are looking for Steering Group members with an interest in sound from across a range of disciplines, and who are willing to play an active part in running the network and shaping its future development.  Please note that this is an unpaid role, which brings wider rewards relating to the active and communal development of our subject area.
