Dear All,
We will be hosting this event (below) next week that I thought could be of interest to your LACC staff, research fellows and students. I was wondering if you could cascade these events within your networks. Thank you,
Juanita
I am pleased to invite you to the Migration policies in Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean Alumni event, hosted by the Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa, the Latin America and Caribbean Centre, the Africa LSE Alumni Associations, and the Latin America and Caribbean LSE Alumni Associations.
Migration is one of the most salient public policy issues of our era. There are two developing regions where the study of migration policies has historically been neglected – and where voluntary migration has expanded over the last few years – are Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean. Despite facing similar challenges and having developed their own policy solutions, valuable lessons in policymaking under challenging circumstances are often not discussed and thus spread out. This event aims to fill this gap by comparing migration policies in African and Latin American countries.
To discuss this important topic concerning both regions, please join the Zoom meeting on December 1, 2021, from 5:00 – 6:30 pm (GMT). Following the event will be a 1-hour networking event with break-out sessions for people from the LSE Alumni community who want to network after the discussion. Please register here<https://lse.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYpceigrz4qHtUAZCN0MMMAxPtzDMnaVT5S>.
