Dear list-members,

Help us close the education and skills gaps in technology-driven entrepreneurship and raise your e-learning profile

*Apologies for cross-posting*

We have an exciting new content creation opportunity with the Education Team here at Arm. Arm is the world’s leading semi-conductor IP company and our technologies reach 70% of the global population.

We’re looking to commission a business-minded author to create some learning activities, knowledge checks, community/discussions, and summative and formative assessments (what we’re calling connective tissue) around six videos we’ve already commissioned, to create a short form online course. I hoped this would be of interest to this list and those in your network - including colleagues or PhD students who would be a good fit for this project.

The vision of the Arm Education is to close the digital divide by playing a leading role in plugging education and skills gaps in computing, for the benefit of scholarship and society. We want to create an environment where students and individuals can maximise their passion for lifelong learning and acquire necessary and in-demand skills needed by today’s technology companies. This is why we’ve partnered with Massive Open Online Course platforms to expand the reach of our educational materials so that they can reach a truly global audience. We’ve have already established a portfolio of technically orientated courses on edX with more to come during the next 12 months (please see https://www.edx.org/school/armeducation). Our courses on edX have thousands of learners.

We’re also aware that today’s early-career undergraduate is expected to have a mix of skills that combines the ‘rigor of engineering fundamentals’ with ‘work-based learning’ and multi-disciplinary focus especially in ‘soft’ or ‘human’ skills like technology-driven entrepreneurship. We’ve partnered with Duke Corporate Education to produce six videos that explain interplay of business models and technology. The videos average about 10 to 12 minutes in duration and are modular in design, so could easily be edited into shorter segments if required. There is 60 minutes+ of material overall.

I’m happy to get on call to provide greater detail and answer any additional questions you may have.

I look forward to hearing from you and your interest in the project.

Best wishes,

Becky
