Role and responsibilities:
To take the lead within the company on all technical matters, whilst being accountable for business development.
Duties include:-
Managing and being responsible for the technical infrastructure for our client, this includes the computers provided to employees, physical servers being hosted in London, and virtual servers provided by other companies.
Managing and being responsible for services provided by third-party organisations (IDE Group, AWS, Zoho, Stripe).
Managing and being responsible for maintaining existing services being supplied to clients.
Software development and database management for the enhancement and improvements of existing solutions and the development of new offerings
Assisting with client technical enquires and potential sales opportunities.
Leading, planning and implementing marketing activities
Managing the company and the activities of the team
Mentoring and guiding the team when required.
Essential Skills & Knowledge:-
Understand and know how to manage an IT network, this would include managing firewalls and configuring servers.
Linux and Windows technical skills, know and understand how to manage a Linux server using command line.
Software development skills in the following languages and environments: PHP, J ava Script, NodeJS and ReactJS.
The ability and knowledge to build and deploy a mapping website from start to finish. i.e. using Open layers API.
Database skills using Postgres. Can create and manage databases and tables, write SQL scripts and create functions.
Good understanding of the concepts of managing spatial data and using GIS systems to manipulate data. For example using FME.
Knowledge of Ordnance Survey data
Basic knowledge of accountancy
Concepts of marketing and sales.
