John Boylan (Lancaster University) and Aris Syntetos (Cardiff University) have recently published a book,
Intermittent Demand Forecasting: Context, Methods and Applications | Wiley
This is the first book that unites forecasting and inventory management, closing the gap between theory and practice in this area. It emphasises intermittent demand items (spare parts and slow-moving stock) which are at the highest risk of obsolescence, whilst also presenting the biggest opportunities for financial and environmental benefits.
