Our service is 9-5 core hours mon-fri, with morning only service at weekends.
We stood up extended days, and then 24/7 cover during the pandemic when BGA reliance was higher and we had to reduce down the number of machines that were in 2s within a department to provide robustness.
But we are now back into a more stable position in terms of number of machines and using next nearest when a machine is down, so we no longer offer ooo for this.
We have a major incident escalation - which is multiple machines were down at once we could be contacted for - but this is so rare we don’t expect contacts.
Thanks
Katy

Subject: Re: Out of hours support blood gas analysers
Hi Soner,
Clinical Engineering provide 24/7 support for the Blood Gas Analysers at our Trust. The ward staff do not do any maintenance/troubleshooting at all. The only thing we let them do is to change the paper!
This works well for us, especially as the number of BGA we have is always increasing.
Theresa.
