Dear All
A fully funded scholarship is available at Sheffield Hallam University to study the reproductive experiences and decision-making among homeless women in England and Australia. This a joint PhD with LA Trobe University, Australia, to start February 2022.
Homeless women are an extremely marginalised group who experience unique constraints on their reproductive decision-making, yet very little is known about their reproductive experiences, a knowledge gap this PhD will seek to address. Grounded in a reproductive rights approach, the project will consider homeless women’s lived experiences through a qualitative comparative research methodology. It will explore the challenges and limitations that have a bearing on, and shape, women’s reproductive behaviour and decision-making, and consider the implications for their reproductive rights and justice. If successful, the PhD candidate will be supervised by an experienced supervisory team from both Sheffield Hallam and La Trobe Universities, and will spend six months studying in Australia during year two of the research programme.
Further details of how to apply for this exciting PhD opportunity are available here: https://www.shu.ac.uk/research/degrees/phd-scholarships/global-partnership-joint-phd-programme-la-trobe.
The applications deadline is 31st October 2021.
Best wishes
Sadie Parr, Sheffield Hallam University
