13th International Conference on Practice Teaching and Field Education in Health and Social Work take place online, 13-14 October 2021

Third plenary speaker to be Dr Lisa Taylor, Professor of Occupational Therapy, University of East Anglia, England. She will present her work on the Peer Enhanced e-Placement (PEEP) model, an online practice-based learning approach created in partnership with Prof Gilly Salmon, who is an expert in designing online learning responses to student placement suspensions during the Covid 19 pandemic. This model offers a sustainable quality adjunct placement option for 2021 and, importantly, beyond.

Dr Taylor joins our two other previously announced invited presenters.

Tim Wilkinson, University of Otago, New Zealand, looks at how COVID social contact restrictions impact on smaller spaces and opportunities for informal interactions and considers the learning that is missed when informal interactions are less able to occur.
Siobhan Maclean of Kirwin Maclean Associates, presents the work of the International Federation of Social Workers Europe Young Social Workers project which explores the experiences of social workers making the transition into the profession, linking this to all the conference themes. Members of the Social Work Student Connect Group will take part.
These presenters give offer three different perspectives on how education and practice across health and social care have adapted during the pandemic and the learning gained from the experiences for the future.
There will also be a wide selection of papers from USA, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa, Japan, Singapore, and all four nations of the United Kingdom.

The 13th International Practice Teaching Conference will be a unique opportunity to catch up with the latest research and developments.
