Dear folks, How do we exactly define a "hydrothermal" mineral? Does it
only refer to minerals precipitating from a hydrothermal solution with
possibly no other solids/rocks/minerals involved, e.g., in a vein? What
do we call a mineral which interacts with a fluid, dissolves and
re-precipitates (may be having a different composition) during
fluid-rock interaction? Can we call such minerals which have
reequilibrated with hydrothermal fluids as "hydrothermal"?
Warm regards,
Dewashish.
