Hi all,
I'm working with a small arts charity with a modest budget to put toward a 'website maintenance & support' contract/service.
Without digital expertise in-house, their primary goal is to have a person/system to help insure against the spectrum of potential technical problems (with the site crashing at the severe end obviously) that might crop up.
I wondered what expectations and arrangements smaller museums & organisations have when it comes to 'website maintenance'?
For example...
What type of provider do you use? (digital agency; freelance developer?)
What's the broad shape of the agreement? (monthly fixed payment; pre-pay for certain number of hours' cover?)
What kind of activities does the agreement cover? (eg, keeping Wordpress / plug-in software updated; fixing small bugs; investigating problems & recommending solutions, etc)
Any thoughts on these, and any other management insights/frustrations, would be great to hear.
Recommendations for providers gratefully received.
Thanks in advance,
Josh
