The AnyScale Learning for All (ALFA) group (http://alfagroup.csail.mit.edu/) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), US, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.
The project funding the fellowship seeks to investigate the coevolution of adversarial behavior in the global cyber ecosystem. The coevolution implies adversaries are adaptive with respect to their opponents. The project is interested in research questions around the dynamics of this coevolutionary arms race, in particular regarding cooperation and competition among adversaries in the domain of cyber defense, e.g. against ransomware.
Candidates are normally expected to have (or be about to receive) a PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Candidates with exceptional Master's or undergraduate degree projects are also invited to apply. Candidates must have a strong programming background, as well as good analytical and communication skills. A strong track record of research in machine learning and artificial intelligence, in particular evolutionary computation and/or experience in the cybersecurity industry are highly desirable. Applicants are reviewed continuously. The start date is as soon as possible (Fall 2021).
