Hi Roberto,
In addition to Dimitry's suggestion, you can also call a subfunction
e2proc3d.py called calcradial from the EMAN2 suite
https://blake.bcm.edu/emanwiki/EMAN2/Programs/e2proc3d
"calcradial bool Calculate the radial density by shell. Output file
becomes a text file. 0 - mean amp, 2 - min, 3 - max, 4 - sigma"
There used to be a function in SPIDER to do the same thing, but the
current documentation does not appear to have an entry for it...
Best,
Pranav

Load it in Chimera and then use the Surface Color dialog in 'volume data value' mode to color the resulting spherical isosurface by the values of your 3D reconstruction. Adjust the isosurface threshold to quickly change the sphere's radius. Alternatively, start with a volume containing a sphere of any radius, and later adjust the pixel size of one of the maps in Chimera to sample the map values at a different radius.
