Our gas analysers measure blood glucose using glucose oxidase assay. Due to interference by ethylene glycol metabolites, we are looking at alternative methods for monitoring glucose in cases of ethylene glycol ingestion. Our glucose meters use glucose dehydrogenase, the lab uses glucose hexokinase. In each instance the IFU do not provide any information for or against their use. Would anyone have any information that they are willing to share regarding ethylene glycol / metabolite interference in these two assays please?
Many thanks
