List members interested in the "spectacular" side of early modern musical life (theatre, plays, etc.) may appreciate knowing about the latest volume in the Essays and Studies series published by the Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies:
Nerida Newbigin, Making a Play for God: The sacre rappresentazioni of Renaissance Florence. Essays and Studies 38. Toronto: CRRS, 2021. 1039 pp, 194 illustrations.

This is the truly magisterial work by Nerida Newbigin, in my view the grande dame of Florentine religious theatre. There are many references in the work to music (both vocal and instrumental) in the plays.
I attach, FYI, the flyer for the book and would encourage you to forward it to your university or college librarian with a strong suggestion for purchase; it will help to make scholarship on confraternities better known and more available to students and colleagues alike.
All the best to you, and do stay safe in this pandemic.
