Hi All

Firstly thank you for making this video available.

I was particularly interested in the points made during this presentation, and I wish I had been able to attend to add to the discussion.

We are currently in the middle of our UKAS accreditation as a private healthcare provider for Covid testing. Although all our pathology laboratories are 15189 accredited none of our hospitals currently hold 22870.

It has been a huge challenge even with our experience with UKAS laboratory ISO standards, to meet the extra requirements for 22870. We intend to use this as a starting point to push more of our POCT services into accreditation.

I have the same concerns regarding "over the counter" and "cowboy providers" who are making quick bucks on the back on Covid.

With my experience in both NHS and Private healthcare. I would be as concerned about POCT Covid testing within the NHS as I would within the private sector. The fact that the regulations state that private providers must have this accreditation and NHS hospitals do not does set double standards.

Regulation is required and should be expected when providing a service that any patient require... I would go further and support a move regulate all private POCT services, however to do this all NHS services should be expected to meet the same standard.

Kind Regards

Christopher Jordan
