Very hot topic at the moment. Same Day Emergency Care agenda along with Community Diagnostic Hubs - one supporting the other. Then you have the Integrated Care Systems and Integrated Care Partnerships. ED and hospital flow can only improve by managing patients in the appropriate care delivery points and working with the community and high street for diagnostic availability.
There is a big transformation on the horizon and POC, rapid and decentralised diagnostics will have a key part to play.

Hiya
I would be interested in this as well. I had a meeting with a couple of our consultants last week who are responsible for the SDEC pathway and want to increase the Point of Care offered. Personally I think they would benefit from a 'POCT/hot' lab.
Kind Regards

Subject: POCT Lab
Can I ask those of you that have a POCT "lab" in ED what devices you have in it and whether it is staffed by the POCT Team or ED staff?
Many thanks,
Theresa
