The research labs of Dr. Katsuhiko Murakami (http://rnaplab.org) and Dr. David Gilmour (https://science.psu.edu/bmb/people/dsg11) in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at The Pennsylvania State University, are seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to analyze the structure and function of eukaryotic RNA polymerase II (Pol II) transcription complexes with elongation factors by cryo-electron microscopy and biochemical methods.



The successful applicants who have recently obtained Ph.D. or will soon complete Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, biophysics, or molecular biology, and have experience in the structural study of macromolecular complexes or the investigation of cellular RNA polymerase transcription. Some familiarity working with Drosophila could be helpful but not necessary since our intent is to isolate native transcription complexes from genetically modified Drosophila.
