Call for papers: "Campus Architecture and Design for Sustainable Development"
and "Subject Editors"
The International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education
https://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/journal/ijshe is the world´s leading
journal focusing on sustainability issues in a higher education context. Since its launching
21 years ago, IJSHE has been mapping and documenting the evolution of the sustainability
debate at universities, in an unprecedent way.
IJSHE intends to intensify the promotion of innovative ideas, methods and initiatives on how to include sustainability
thinking on campus design, and is calling for papers on "Campus Architecture and Design for Sustainable Development".
Accepted papers will be published in the usual way, and will be placed in normal issues
in the coming two years, fostering the continous debate on campus design and architecture,
showcasing how to make campuses greener and, as such more sustainable.
Expressions of interest, consisting of a 200 words abstract with the title of the contribution
and full contact details of the authors, should be send to: [log in to unmask],
by the following deadlines: 30th August 2021, 30th October 2021 and 31st January 2022.
Papers will be revised as they are submitted, and the details will be shared with the respective
authors. A specialist Symposium on "Campus Architecture and Design for Sustainable Development"
will be held in January 2021, where the authors may present their work to a wide audience.
IJSHE is also calling for specialist on sustainability in higher education, to join the editorial
team as "subject editors". The post of "subject editor" is a voluntary one, i.e. it entails no
payment, but serves the purpose of demonstrating the expertise of colleagues on a particular sustainability theme, as it relates to
higher education. Colleagues who may wish to be considered for this position should contact the editor of IJSHE,
Professor Walter Leal, with a statement of interest and details on the theme they would like to
