Hi,
I've recently helped run the verification procedure for a number of different POCT analysers here. If we've got the same models installed already, we usually perform precision runs with QCs (both between and within run), EQAs (where available using 5 samples each) and patient comparison across each of the analysers and use the same model as the reference/standard method. We normally aim for a minimum of 25 patient samples but this depends on availability. Assuming the results obtained are suitable (following statistical analysis) then we proceed with implementing them.

Same at Portsmouth - we recently got two loan analysers for ITU: precision runs with QCs (within and in between run), EQAs (5 samples each) and patient comparison - we wanted at least 20 results but due to Covid pressure we then went life with one of the analysers with just over ten results for some analytes (there were more patients, but not all samples produced all results)

Good Afternoon Everyone
A question for you all.. more of an opinion poll really!
You have a POCT blood gas service with 10 analysers in place. You want to add 2 more, either additional to service or as replacement analysers, this is additional analysers for an existing service (same manufacturer and model, no significant hardware/software changes.)
How do you verify before deployment?
I feel that answers are going to be quite varied, very interested to see your different approaches
