Hi everyone,
I hope you are all well and have had a good long weekend. I am writing as colleagues in our school (Languages, Cultures & Societies) at Leeds are organising an event on 23rd April from 11:00 to 13:30 entitled 'Embracing Linguistic Diversity' and I thought this may be of interest to some of you as something we need to consider in teaching listening. It may also affect our students (and ourselves?) more broadly. More details of the programme (scroll down on the page to see this) for the event as well as the link to register can be accessed via the link below. This is a free event:

Hope to see some of you there. Peter and I will be doing one of the 10-minute presentations on how our research findings have encouraged us to rethink how we develop listening materials with accents and speed of speech in mind.
Take care
Niamh
