PhD Opportunities in Education, Childhood and Youth Studies, Canterbury Christ Church University, Kent, UK
Canterbury Christ Church University’s programmes in Education, Childhood and Youth Studies is at the centre of a very large and vibrant PhD community with approximately 50 doctoral students.
For 2021, we are looking for proposals in all areas related to:
• Education
• Childhood Studies
• Youth Studies
• Professional development and identity of those in the education sector • Sustainability
These could also relate (but not exclusively) to:
• Identities in youth, gender, ethnicity, social class, special needs, and the intercultural • Lifelong, further and professional education • Faith, beliefs and values • Innovations in learning • Sport, science, maths and the humanities • Well-being and mental health • Creative research methodologies
As an illustration, recent and current students have explored inclusive education in the UK, Asia and Africa; the politics of youth democracy and volunteering; educational inequality in the UK, and school leadership and professional teacher identity.
We will consider applications from students who are able to self-fund their studies on a full time or part time basis. We are also able to offer a full time scholarship or part time fee waivers for successful applicants.
