Dear friends and colleagues,
Please find below the abstract and zoom invitation to Dr Maria Cristina Biella's upcoming talk for the Early Italy Research Network 'Pre-Roman Urbanism between past and present: the cases of Falerii and Veii' at 5pm GMT on Wednesday 17th March. It's going to be a brilliant talk and we look forward to seeing you there!

And the Facebook event is here: https://fb.me/e/25ZDM8kVR.
'The study of ancient urbanism, with particular regard to Etruscan cities, is a core feature of pre-Roman studies in the Italian peninsula, but much about urban organization remains still unresolved.
One of the possible approaches is to consider those urban experiences as an independent phenomenon, the direct consequence of a well-defined social and political choice carried out by the local ruling political authority through the centuries, through the adoption of a longue durée perspective, and an emic and multiscale approach.
The talk will be particularly focused on the case studies of Falerii, where the available dataset is particularly relevant, thanks to the intense research carried out in the last 150 years, and to the one of Veii, where the Sapienza Università di Roma has a long tradition of studies.'
Thanks and best wishes,
Elena and George
