Dear all,
The next Applied Mineralogy Group Open Geoscience talk will be held tomorrow at 3pm (GMT) via zoom.
Prof. Éva Hartai (University of Miskolc) will present the results of the EU funded CHPM2030 project.
The overview of Éva's talk is as follows:
Production of energy and metals in an interlinked process: how ultra-deep metal enrichments can be utilised.
CHPM2030 was an EU-funded H2020 project with the strategic objective to develop a novel technological solution that can help satisfy the needs for energy and strategic metals in a single interlinked process. In the CHPM technology vision, an enhanced geothermal system (EGS) is established in a deep-seated (4 km or more) metal-bearing geological formation. By leaching metals from the mineralised rock body and recovering them at surface, the co-production of energy and metals can be possible and may even be optimised according to market demands.
