Archives Manager Asia Pacific - Hong Kong
This is an exciting opportunity to join HSBC's team of archivists spanning London, Hong Kong, Paris and New York.
Our archives form one of the most international corporate collections in the world. At the heart of it are the records of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, founded in Hong Kong in 1865. The collection captures our evolution and the contributions of employees over the years. They also tell a story of the social and economic history of the communities we serve.
The Archives Manager Asia Pacific will be based in Hong Kong and will report into the Regional Head of Archives. The jobholder is responsible for driving our collecting programme in Asia Pacific, and leading appraisal, cataloguing and conservation workstreams. The jobholder also oversees our professional storage environments. The jobholder collaborates with global colleagues to develop and implement policies and procedures, and participates in the ongoing development of our award-winning digital archives system. They also require strong curatorial and presentation skills to support our extensive outreach programmes. This includes leading tours and developing exhibitions at our interactive Archives Gallery in Hong Kong, which receives thousands of visitors a year.
