Dear list members,
I have a BA student who is writing her dissertation on Bob Marley's time in Britain. She would really love to talk to anyone who may have gone to see him in concert when he was here, or was a fan, bought his records, or even met him. She is trying to go beyond how he was received by the music press to access how his presence in Britain influenced people at the community level. One of the questions she is asking is: how did Marley's physical presence in Britain shape, change or influence the lives, communities, identity and consciousness of Black British people/the Caribbean diaspora in the UK? Hopefully it's a good chance to reminisce about Marley and what he meant to people during the period of the 1970s in Britain.
If any of this resonates with you, or someone you know, I'd really appreciate it if you could get in touch with me directly, and I can put you in touch with my student.
best wishes,
Kate
