Just a simple question, if the original nurse appeared to be squeezing the lance site, which is not recommended in training did they also not wash and dry the patients hands properly? I think in the current situation with covid we are all using alcohol gels and hand lotions, which could potentially contaminate the capillary blood sample if not sufficiently washed off prior to lancing? Topical analgesics have also been identified in literature to cause falsely high ketone results.
I'd be interested to know if you do find the answer,
