This is the final call for papers for the 15th European Conference on Game Based Learning (ECGBL 2021) hosted by The University of Brighton, UK on 23 - 24th September 2021.

This call will close on 3rd March 2021.

This year more than ever there has been a change in the educational landscape. Homes around the world were transformed into classrooms, lecture theatres, research labs and training centres. Challenges such as this have highlighted the importance of innovation in education and one area excelling at this is Game Based Learning.

We are delighted to confirm that Pete Jenkins from Gamificationplus, UK will be giving a Keynote Speech entitled: ”Seven Steps To Gamification Success” at the conference.

In the first instance all submission types require an abstract. For more information please go to: http://www.academic-conferences.org/conferences/ecgbl/ecgbl-call-for-papers/

In addition to the main conference topics, the advisory group invites submissions to the following confirmed mini tracks:

•	Measurement & Evaluation for Game-Based Learning
•	Dialogic Perspectives on Games and Learning
•	GBL Approaches to Train People with Intellectual Disabilities in Everyday Life Skills
•	Learning through educational game design

Publication opportunities
Papers accepted for the conference will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment. The ECGBL conference proceedings are published with an ISBN and ISSN and are indexed by a number of bodies, including Web of Science WOS and Scopus.

Papers that have been presented at the conference will also be considered for further development and publication in the following journals:

Electronic Journal of e-Learning (ISSN 1479-4403) – (indexed by SCOPUS)
International Journal of Game-Based Learning Published by IGI—Global (indexed by SCOPUS)
Serious Games published by the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI) Endorsed Transactions

9th International Educational Game Competition
The International Educational Game Competition will once again be held alongside the conference in 2021. For more information and to enter the competition see http://www.academic-conferences.org/conferences/ecgbl/ecgbl-international-educational-games-competition/

After a successful Virtual conference for ECGBL 2020 we are planning for ECGBL 2021 to be a “hybrid” conference. Meaning that there will be physical events with virtual elements built into it to create an experience for both those who can attend in person and those able to attend online.

Please feel free to circulate this message to any colleagues or contacts you think may be interested.

Follow the conference on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter

Regards,

Elaine
