MDM 2021: Call for Workshop Proposals

http://mdmconferences.org/mdm2021/wpcall.html

Following the MDM tradition, MDM 2021 workshops will provide
participants with opportunities to discuss and explore emerging areas of
mobile data management with fellow students, researchers, and
practitioners. The goals of the workshops are to establish a common
understanding of a certain aspect, to share experiences, foster research
communities, learn from each other, identify open problems and/or
explore directions for future research. Note that the workshops are
expected to provide significant room for controversial and stimulating
discussions. The organizers of the workshop should thus take care of
planning the correct presentation format to enable such kind of lively
interaction.

Workshops are tentatively planned to be held the day before the
conference. Publication of accepted workshop papers will be through IEEE
Computer Society. The page limits for accepted regular workshop papers
are 6 pages, including all figures, tables, and references.

Submission Instructions:

Workshop proposals should be no longer than 4 pages and must include:
1. The Workshop title and acronym.
2. A summary of no more than 250 words describing the theme(s) of the
workshop.
3. A more detailed description of the workshop format, specific goals
and plan, and explanations of why the workshop is a good match with MDM.
4. The names, addresses, and a short bio (up to 200 words) of the
organizers (up to three).
5. The names of potential program committee members.
6. If applicable, a description of past versions of the workshop,
including number of submitted and accepted papers, and number of attendees.
7. The expected number of participants and the means of soliciting
participation.
8. A description of the publicity plan.
9. A tentative Call for Papers of the workshop, including the workshop
website address.

Workshops Guidelines
Upon notification of acceptance of the proposal, workshop organizers are
required to:
* Follow up with announcements and calls for contributions on different
forums and mailing lists.
* Forming a PC and manage the reviewing process, both in terms of
coordinating the PC members and ensuring resolving controversial
submissions.
* Collaborate with Proceedings Chairs for ensuring timely completion of
the camera-ready copies.
* Keep the workshop Website updated.
    Please be aware that:
* At least one of the workshop organizers must register to MDM, and
participate in the Conference, at least during the workshop.
* A workshop organiser can be co-author of at most one paper submitted
to the workshop with a regular reviewing process properly handled
avoiding conflict of interests.

Acceptance of workshop proposals will be determined by the MDM 2021
workshop co-chairs.  Email your proposal in PDF format to
[log in to unmask] with ÒMDM Workshop ProposalÓ as the subject
line by the submission deadline.
Important Dates:
Submission of Workshop Proposals: February 6, 2021.
Acceptance Notification of Workshop Proposals: February 15, 2021

Tentative Schedule for Workshops:
Deadline for Workshop Papers: March 20, 2021
Notification of Workshop Papers: April 17, 2021
Deadline for Camera Ready Papers: April 24, 2021

Workshop organizers can postpone the submission deadline after the main
conference notification in order to consider possible good papers that
did not make it to the main program. The camera ready deadline, however,
cannot be postponed.
