This is the first call for papers for the 17th European Conference on Management Leadership and Governance (ECMLG 2021) hosted by University of Malta, Valletta, Malta on 8–9 November 2021. We are pleased to confirm our Conference Chair will be Professor. Frank Bezzina PhD (Melit.), Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (FEMA) and Head of the Department of Management and THE Programme Chair will be Professor Vincent Cassar PhD(Lond), Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy at the University of Malta and Fellow of the Centre for Evidence Based Management.
This call will close on 18th April 2021.
In the world of business, Management Leadership and Governance remain some of the most important areas to understand in the quest for growth and competitive advantage. ECMLG offers an opportunity for scholars and practitioners interested in the issues related to Management, Leadership, and Governance to share their thinking and research findings. These fields of study are broadly described as including issues related to the management of the organisations’ resources, the interface between senior management and the formal governance of the organisation. This Conference provides a forum for discussion, collaboration, and intellectual exchange for all those interested in any of these fields of research or practice.
We invite contributions for academic research, case studies and work-in-progress/posters are welcomed approaches. PhD Research, proposals for roundtable discussions, non-academic contributions and product demonstrations based on the main themes are also invited. A prize will be awarded to the best PhD paper and the best Poster.

Publication opportunities
Papers accepted for the conference will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment. The ECMLG conference proceedings are published with an ISBN and ISSN and are indexed by a number of bodies, including Thomson ISI WOS and EBSCO.
Papers that have been presented at the conference will also be considered for further development and publication in the following journals:

International Journal of Complexity in Leadership and Management published by Inderscience ISSNs - online: 1759-0264 and print: 1759-0256
International Journal of Emerging Markets published by Emerald ISSN: 1746-8809
We are planning for ECMLG 2021 to be a “hybrid” conference. Meaning that it will be physical event with virtual elements built into it to create an experience for both those who can attend in person and those able to attend online.
