Produced as a collaboration between the Haitian Chamber of Commerce in
Great Britain and the research project 'Fanm Rebèl: Recovering the
Histories of Haiti's Women Revolutionaries', this documentary (released on
1 January, Haitian Independence Day) charts the exile journey of
Marie-Louise Christophe - first and last Queen of Haiti - during the few
years that she lived in England from 1821-1824. In following her footsteps,
and visiting the spaces that she once inhabited, the documentary hopes to
bring those inside and outside of the United Kingdom closer to an important
woman that history has consigned to the margins. The film can be watched
