University College Dublin's School of Information & Communication
Studies and the HCI@UCD group are proud to introduce our new 1 year MSc
in HCI, starting from September 2021 (https://bit.ly/3o864W5).
The programme takes a social science perspective, giving students the
skills and knowledge required to explore and apply social scientific
theories and approaches to HCI research and practice. The programme
offers students with an existing undergraduate degree the opportunity to
gain experience in core HCI based skills, as well as specialise in areas
of HCI that reflect the expertise of the HCI@UCD group through tracks
in:Communicative Interfaces, Interaction Science & User Research and
Interface Ethics & Society.
===Programme delivery:===
The programme uses a combination of lectures, seminars and tutorials
including self-directed and autonomous learning. Several modules will
also utilise e-learning tools and online content and delivery. A core
part of the programme will involve students conducting a cutting edge
research project in the area of HCI, supervised by members of the
HCI@UCD group.
===About UCD:===
UCD is ranked within the top 1% of higher education institutions
worldwide and is one of Europe's leading research-intensive
universities. UCD is also Ireland's most globally engaged university
with over 30,000 students drawn from 136 countries. The University's
main Dublin campus occupies an extensive parkland estate of 133 hectares
and offers world-leading facilities. The School of Information &
Communication Studies is a top 50 ranked school in the most recent QS
University rankings and UCD is ranked number 1 in Ireland and 75th in
the world for graduate employability.
