I was glad to see a review of this new collection of stories by Nikolay Leskov (NYRB Classics). Most of the stories are translated by Donald Rayfield. The translation of "The Steel Flea" is by William Edgerton and the translation of "Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk" is my own.
