could you use Goo Gone on the bookshop owners too?

Bill,
Choice example of a self-conscious snapshot well within the range
defined by the original formulators of THE SNAPSHOT PROJECT. To remove
"bookstore grit", labels (& their remains), and other "additions" to a
glossy book surface I recommend a product called "GOO GONE". Recently
saw their small size container for only $1. Other surfaces possible,
just test on the least prominent surface to discover whether GOO GONE
will leave its own trace as well. Regularly employed within the used &
rare book & LP album businesses.

Closing my used copy
of Sam Shepard’s stories,
there’s that cover again.
Photographed from behind,
a blue-hued father
and his son sit,
legs dangling
from the front of a jetty.
Two removed boots
face the viewer.
Low clouds at dusk.
Is that a bird
above a cloud?
Chip at it
with my thumbnail.
No, just some bookstore
grit.
Sky’s clear now.
