I have checked through the whole list; in addition to Lucinda Platt, Laura Bear is an anthropologist working on Covid-19 impacts, Melinda Mills is a sociologust/demographer. The others, while non-social scientists seem to be well qualified in epidemiology, public health, genomics and medics interested in 'social causes of ....' It looks like there's plenty of statistical expertise there too.
In the Welsh committee report we stressed the importance of racism as a 'pre-existing condition' for vulnerablity to Covid-19 but in addition to medics we had both social scientists and BME activists participating.
There may be a risk that the English sub group over-medicalises their analysis. But we can perhaps be hopeful. Considering the number of medical sociologist we have in the UK it's disapponting not to see at least one or two of them on the list.

Hi everyone,
A colleague sent this to me. Now I am sure all of those are this list are all excellent an well meaning, but I only recognised one name – Lucinda Platt. I haven’t the time to check all of them, but there seems to be a distinct lack of social scientists apart from a few psychologists.
I didn’t even know there was a Sage Ethnicity subgroup
Best Wishes
