Hi
For Scottish Local Authorities, the SCARRS guidelines (24.003) offer quite a modest retention.
The relevant schedule can be accessed from here: https://www.scottisharchives.org.uk/resources/scarrs/
This is good as it stands.
A consequence, however, of the various child abuse inquiries, is, I am finding, a growing shift to public sector retention that better helps us evidence why we did what we did when we did it. In terms of business continuity planning records, I would suggest that this would point to permanent (or very long -term) retention for those plans that are live at the time of an incident.
I hope this assists- it may be a Monday morning thing, but I could not place your sector from your posting.

Morning all
I'm looking for guidance on the retention of business continuity records i.e. how long for and why that period.
Records would include BC Plans, incidents, exercise's, inspections etc.
Thanks in advance
Mike
