THE POETRY KIT INTERNATIONAL POETRY COMPETITION 2020
 This year's competition is for poetry in English on the theme or subject of “home” which can be broadly interpreted and presented in any form or style.  
There are no style or length restrictions, but it should be stressed that a short poem is just as likely to be selected as a longer one.  
 1st prize is valued at £210 (this includes membership of our mentorship program)      2nd prize is £50
ENTER ONLINE - Entry is by email to [log in to unmask]  after an appropriate fee is paid by Pay Pal to the account of [log in to unmask]
all entries must be received before midnight 6th January 2021 Entries received after this time will be discarded. All entries are judged anonymously so please do not put any identifying features on the poems.

This three week course looks at new ways to find subjects, write, edit and publish poems.  This is a challenging course that asks poets to look at these issues in a new way. Poetry in changing times - 2nd – 23rd November 2020
This is a short online course for poets who want to look at the way their poetry can stay relevant in changing times.  We will be looking at relevance, authenticity and voice as cornerstones for producing poems that engage with change. We will look at personal, scientific and imagined responses. Poetry and Music – 2nd – 23rd November 2020
This course looks at the interaction between poetry and music, how music can inspire poetry and the use of poetry as lyric.  The musical properties of poetry, rhythm and line choices, and new ways to use sonic devices in poetry.  We will be looking for many opportunities to develop these ideas into poems. Full feedback and help will be given during the course. The course will be conducted online over three weeks, at a cost of £30 –

DECEMBER POETRY WOEKSHOP
3 weeks of holiday poetry fun to fit around your shopping and holiday preparations.  Poetry exercises that will inspire you to engage with the season like never before. We will be looking to develop poems from the small events and the large, from the personal to nature and the time of year. This will be a fun workshop with the serious intent to produce some fine poetry.   The course will be conducted online over three weeks, at a cost of £30 –

We offer three online courses, suitable for the beginner, intermediate or more experienced poet. These courses start on the second and fourth Monday of each month. All courses offer full and complete individual feedback and support.  

We also offer a Mentoring programme.  Our Individual Mentoring Programmes for Poets are always available and can start at any time. All mentoring is designed to meet the needs of the individual and to help them progress their poetry and develop a structured writing career.

POETRY IN THE PLAGUE YEAR We continue to invite contributions from poets around the world for our online anthology for poems that are written during lockdown or coming out of lockdown or ongoing period while the virus is with us. The poem does not need to engage with the pandemic but must be written during this time.
