Hello
This is the First call for papers for the 16th European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ECIE 2021) being held at Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE), Portugal on 16-17 September 2021.
After a successful Virtual conference for ECIE 2020 we are hoping to be able to meet in person for a physical event in Lisbon, Portugal, in September 2021. We know however that the events of this year have had a longer lasting impact on participants ability and willing to travel for events. Therefore, we are planning for ECIE 2021 to be a “hybrid” conference. Meaning that they will be physical events with virtual elements built into it to create an experience for both those who can attend in person and those able to attend online.
The call for papers will close on 24th February 2021.
The conference provides an international opportunity for scientific discussion and collaboration on a broad range of topics associated with recent trends in innovation and entrepreneurship. There is a growing recognition in business environments of the key role played by innovation and entrepreneurship. In the uncertain global economic climate that we are currently experiencing, the capacity and necessary attitude for creating new business is fundamental and the probability of success is largely determined by innovative and entrepreneurial thinking. At the same time there is a growing recognition of the need for more sustainable innovation, combining economic, ecological and social aspects.

The proceedings are published with an ISBN and ISSN and are indexed by a number of accreditation bodies, including Scopus and Thompson ISI WoS. Papers that have been presented at the conference will also be considered for revision and publication by a number of journals.
ECIE will also host the final rounds of the 7th Innovation & Entrepreneurship Teaching Excellence Awards. If you have been involved in this field of study we invite you to participate in the competition to showcase new ideas and new approaches for teaching innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education institutions and in the organisational environment.
