Dear all,
In time for World Cities Day, we invite applications from UK-based Early Career Researchers to be part of the Newton Fund Researcher Links Workshop on Sustainable Urban Infrasystems (infrastructure systems) organized by the University of Manchester and Tongji University.
The overall aim of this workshop is to enhance our understanding of complex human-environment interactions and their sustainability outcomes. It will advance systems approaches for infrastructure (incl. sanitation, water, energy, transport) which situate basic human functions within wider human ecosystems of critical social, economic and environmental resources and social institutions, cycles and order.
Workshop contributions will be concerned with different infrasystems (e.g., transportation; energy; service-networked; sewage-based sanitation), environments (urban, peri-urban, rural) and temporal scales (historical analysis, scenario modelling).
Dates: 27-30 November 2020 (+ 4x Tuesday afternoon in December)
Format: The workshop will take place at Tongji University (Shanghai) for China-based participants and virtually for UK-based participants.
Application deadline: 16 November 2020, 2 pm UK time.
Organisers: Dr Deljana Iossifova (University of Manchester) and Prof Feng Luan (Tongji University, Shanghai)
