Hi,
ISKO UK (The UK Chapter of the International Society of Knowledge Organization)
is pleased to announce a programme of FREE virtual classes on knowledge
organization.
Whether you are an experienced information professional wanting a refresher on
the basics of Knowledge Organization, or a newcomer to the profession, you might
be interested in following some of the educational events that ISKO UK is
offering as part of the programme Knowledge Organization Education (KO-ED). More
details at https://bit.ly/36eNdDt
The first track INTRODUCTION TO KNOWLEDGE ORGANIZATION consists of nine classes
covering the fundamental techniques and tools of Knowledge Organization. The
first three classes will introduce the basics, allowing participants to
familiarise themselves with key concepts and terminology. These initial sessions
will prepare the ground for a further exploration of key components in the KO
tool-box.
Weekly classes will be delivered via Zoom on Thursdays from 18:30 to 19:30 GMT
from 8 October to 10 December 2020.
Registration to the first three classes is now open at https://bit.ly/36cEYbb.
You may choose to attend all classes or select just the particular ones you
need. Attendance is free of charge but registration is recommended as numbers
are limited.
We hope these online classes will be of interest to all who want to learn,
refresh or expand their understanding of knowledge organization principles.
Please feel free to circulate this information to colleagues who might be
interested.
On behalf of ISKO UK
KO-ED programme coordinator
