Pro Bono Web Developer needed
About Sanctuary Hosting: Sanctuary Hosting helps people who are homeless and seeking safety in the UK by matching them to volunteer hosts who offer a spare room rent free, for a defined period of time. Since its beginnings in 2015, Sanctuary Hosting has helped 113 people from 27 countries find safe shelter, making available almost 22,000 nights of accommodation across the Thames Valley. This is all achieved through volunteer hosts and support workers giving their time and energy in the belief that no one should be homeless.
About this role: We are looking for a web developer to enhance Sanctuary Hosting’s WordPress ( http://www.sanctuaryhosting.org ) website. The website was created in 2016 and needs improvements in terms of layout, visual appeal and user-friendliness. The role would involve using Google Analytics, and other platforms, to get a better understanding of how the website is being used, and could be enhanced. This is an ideal role for someone looking to expand their web development portfolio, with a desire to contribute to the voluntary sector.

Role: Volunteer Web Developer
Hours/frequency: Flexible, the role could be undertaken gradually, over the course of a couple of months, or more rapidly over a shorter period of time.
Reporting to: Sanctuary Hosting Service Manager
Tasks: 1. Review of current website and Google Analytics; 2. Recommendations for improvement; 3. Modifications made to the site; plugins uploaded as required; 4. Advice to the Service Manager regarding ongoing upkeep of the website.
