Hi Vikkie
You (and others in the same boat), might like to take a look at the resources available from the Plugged In, Powered Up programme developed by The National Archives https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sector/projects-and-programmes/plugged-in-powered-up/.
In particular the workflows section and the Novice to Know-How training (as of a bit earlier today there were still a few places available for the August training cohort)

Subject: Digital Archiving: Starting Out
EXTERNAL: This email originates from outside of The National Archives.
Hello,
We are just starting out on our digital preservation journey. During lockdown myself and colleagues have been creating digital surrogates for learning and engagement resources and have a couple of questions about the digital preservation of these going forwards:
Can anyone suggest a sensible filing structure that would combine files from different departments e.g. collections, learning, marketing?
Can anyone suggest a sensible file naming system/format for either digital surrogates or digital resources that don't have a recognised accession and catalogue number attached?
We have also recently been approached about acquiring a digital archive. This is not something we have dealt with before. In terms of documenting born-digital material, is it the same as accessioning physical items? Any suggestions/recommendations for digital archive storage (that preferably don't cost money) would also be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance
