I hope the following might be quite useful in the current climate.
Figures are showing that organisations are wanting to engage with their audiences online more and more, which has resulted in huge demand for Virtual Reality Tours; making use of advances in technology to engage and reach new audiences. According to Google Search Trends, searches since January for the term “virtual” are up by an incredible 500%**. There is no question that virtual experiences are a great alternative way of bringing museums, galleries or exhibitions to life so that visitors can enjoy them from the comfort and safety of their own homes, but funding them continues to be a barrier for many.
In the circumstances, we at TownsWeb Archiving have identified several organisations that may be able to help with the all-important aspect of funding for this particular feature. These organisations seek to help the sector get back up and running in new digital and innovative ways so that they can be better prepared for operating remotely and continue sharing their culturally significant work, regardless of any physical restrictions that might arise or how visitor preferences and browsing habits might change.
We hope that you find this post helpful and, please, do let us know if you would like to find out more about VR Funding or, indeed, how the 360 virtual tour looks and works.
