Hi
I pooled EDTA HbA1c blood samples, run them through the glucose meter blood gas machine and chemistry analyser.
Spun the pool and removed plasma or added plasma to create high/low Hct concentrations to test the limits of the meters.
I have also been on wards, shadowing nurses, taking a second capillary drop of blood for comparison when changing meters/strips, with patient consent.

Dear Rachael,
Depending on which supplier you are looking into Nova provided a very comprehensive protocol for this purpose, using spiked samples. We also used ITT results, when patients have POCT and lab testing simultaneously at various time points.
Best wishes,

Afternoon all
Please advise; The evaluation of Blood Glucose meters and the Patient Comparison Study: how have you all gone about sourcing patient samples to process in the lab taken at the same time as the capillary bloods please?
Many thanks
