Given the surge in the last five years of LGBTQ+ film festivals, there is clearly a desire for queer folk to get their voices out there and let their stories be heard. The concept of how humour is used to help people sort through issues attached to the LGBTQ+ community is an interesting (and vital) thesis and world to explore, not just for those in film school but those interested in storytelling in general.
Homo Humour Films (HHF) founded by British London-based artist filmmaker Dr Lee Campbell in 2020 is the first of its kind project on contemporary queer male film and moving image practices that explore the relationship between humour and LGBTQ+ storytelling and the application of humour and comedy tactics from film practitioners from across the globe (current showreel include filmmakers from Australia, USA, U.K) as strategies to challenge, transgress, subvert and rebel.
So far HHF has presented screenings in Miami (February 2020) and Italy (Online June 2020).

HHF is currently seeking further venues in the UK and beyond to present the project (screening + discussion + QA) in both physical/virtual spaces and welcomes potential venues /individuals/LGBTQ+ groups and networks to get in touch. Also, if you are a queer male filmmaker who is producing work within the context of the project and would like to show us your films that please get in touch with viewable links to your films and bio.
