The Brain Imaging Facility of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Clinical Research (IZKF Aachen) is the central facility for planning, executing and analyzing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies within the Medical Faculty of the RWTH Aachen University.
We offer a position as MR-physicist/MR neuroimaging researcher.
Your duties and responsibilities:
• MR-Sequence optimization for both clinical and fundamental neuroimaging studies.
• Planning and performing (f)MRI measurements using stimulation- and presentation devices and physiological data recording equipment.
• Development and maintenance of project specific software and hardware for (f)MRI studies.
• Assisting with the development of neuroscientific research paradigms.
• Management and analysis of large quantities of data.
• Supervision of multimodal neuroimaging.
• Quality assurance of measurements and processes.
Your profile:
• Doctorate degree in the field of Medical physics, MRI physics, or similar scientific field with a focus on MR imaging
• Working experience with MR imaging.
• Knowledge on image pre/post processing.
• High level understanding of MRI operation using theoretical knowledge of MR physics
• Advanced programming skills in multiple languages (Python, C, C++, MATLAB, Java, Linux bash, or similar) are mandatory
• An appropriate publication record in international peer reviewed journals.
• Experienced in MR-protocol optimization and sequence design using IDEA.
• Experience operating MRI scanners using syngo is preferable.
• An empathic and reliable work attitude.
Our offer:
• This full-time (38.5 h/week) position is available from the 01.07.2020 to 30.06.2023. An extension is possible.
• The salary is based on the German public service salary scale (TV-L 14).
• The successful applicant will work in a multidisciplinary (informatics, psychologists, neuroscientists, etc.) and international environment with
researchers and clinicians of the RWTH Aachen University Hospital, as well as visitor researchers from other countries.
