Hi Greg,
Steve Harlan says that he is still holding onto it. He says that we
shouldn't get our hopes up, but it is still in play. He is waiting to
see how final budgets shake out. Sounds like we are still alive, but
just barely.
About khondalite, I have some perspective. We have lots of it in the
Adirondacks. Its a very distinctive grt sil qtz feldspar rock with
essentially no biotite. In the Adks, it is restite from bt dehydration
melting. Sometimes, there is a bit of biotite, but it is retrograde,
typically around the garnet.
There's also the name: kinsigite... which does contain biotite. I think
it is pretty much the same, but all of the biotite was not consumed...
Still some hope for our proposal.
Mike
