Back in March the Govt told us there were (from memory) about 150,000
care homes, which was a very large number to distribute PPE or collect
data from. This week we were told 2/3 care homes have been free of
COVID. That implies 50,000 centres of infection, with presumably a
Poisson distribution for number of cases in each centre. Any estimates
of lambda available? Would a map of these 50,000 locations on, say, a
map scaled by population density be informative as to most-affected
regions?
