Hi everyone,
Hope all are as well as can be expected?
I'm currently in the process of planning a return to work scenario, and having to look at how to manage a lot of shared equipment whilst keeping those using it as safe as possible. I was thinking that I can't be alone in this and thought it might be helpful to pool any resources or information on equipment cleaning procedures/products that will be effective without damaging all of our kit. Not sure how many people are still logging on here or are not on furlough but here goes anyway!
The most relevant I have found so far is this:

My preliminary thinking is to repurpose some studio space, turning it into as big as possible equipment cupboard away from all other activity. Within that there'll be dated tables for each day of the week. Once Photographer A has used any kit they'll be required to thoroughly clean it, then put on the table relevant for that day. That way it's clear on what equipment has been used when, and when Photographer B needs to use kit they'll know if 72 hours has passed or not before using something. They'll then be required to clean the equipment again before they use it.
Alternatively/alongside this I'm also looking into whether its realistic to have set kits for set groups of people, and the possibility of having a more thorough booking system for equipment so we can be sure the right kit is available for any one job.
Of course all of this goes alongside any institutional policies on return to work, social distancing, PPE, working in restricted groups, minimal on site time etc etc. It would be great to hear what anyone else is thinking about or considering, please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to chat more, [log in to unmask]
Tori :)
