Evening all
I wanted to say a thanks to all those who commented on the testing post . I have advised the Trust where I work on the advice as clearly stated in the documents about Returning to work ....
I am now faced with another question which I think I know the answer but please could I gain further knowledge on this area
The trust are now asking if we should be testing people twice .,e.g. They may have self isolated for 7 days because of a cold ( thinking it was CV) they are then called up for a test and are positive . The need to be tested is because they are going to be working in an area such as on a covid ward. So they are questioning if people should be tested Twice??
My first thought is no stick to the guidance on fitness to work: can someone please give me a scientific rational why we should test some people twice .
Are they overthinking this and its pointless exercise?
If this is the case then we could be testing endlessly?
I am not an expert in virology and would welcome anyone's view on this . I have looked at what other trusts are doing and I do not know of any one testing twice?
I value your thoughts on this and thanks for replying to yet another question
